History+

The construction of Groß Kedingshagen Manor House took place before 1835, commissioned by J. C. Bartels, a shipowner and consul from Stralsund. After his death in 1864, the estate, including the manor, was converted into a private foundation. In 1937, ownership transferred to the Schirmann family. After the end of World War II in 1945, the estate was expropriated. Since 1997, the manor house has been back in private ownership.
