Groß Miltzow Castle

Groß Miltzow Castle was built around 1760 as a single-story building with a central risalit for the von Dewitz family, which was later connected to the main house. In 1780, the main house was converted into a two-story manor house with rich baroque interior decoration. Around 1840, the older manor house was rebuilt, this time into a building with a mansard roof on a plinth story with a three-axis central risalit in the French Renaissance style. In 1905, the service wing was added. Until 1905, the estate was owned by the von Dewitz family. Ownership changed in 1905 to Baron von Bodenhausen and from 1942 until their expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945 to the von Schwerin family. The extensive park and some farm buildings are still well preserved. After 1945, the manor house was used as an administrative building. After 1990, it was briefly run as a hotel.
