The castle was built around 1563 by Gotthard Schober in place of an old knightly court. In the second half of the 17th century, it was redesigned. From 1665 to 1960, the castle was owned by the Kellersperg family.

The three-story block with a hip roof and a roof turret features an entrance axis projecting like a bay window. To the south is an annex with a corner tower, and on both sides of the courtyard of honor are one- to two-story farm buildings.
