Groß Ziethen Castle

The origin of the Märkisches manor house lies in the 14th century. At that time, the beautiful barrel vault was created. From it, the manor house gradually developed. In the 19th century, the baroque structure was reshaped and extended by two higher, more richly designed corner pavilions. In 1902, the western tower with the dome was built. Founded by the von Bredow family, the house changed owners several times. From 1798 to 1828, the estate belonged to Field Marshal Prince von Blücher.
In 1879, it fell to the von Bülow family, who managed the estate until 1945. In 1994, E. Frfr. von Thüngen, née von Bülow, and her family took over the very dilapidated house. It was restored, rebuilt, and the necessities of a modern hotel were carefully integrated. In May 1997, the doors opened for guests for the first time. A spacious park with old trees surrounds the house.
