Güldengossa Castle

The origins of the estate date back to 1285, when a manor house in Güldengossa was first mentioned. In 1473, the Erdmannsdorf brothers were enfeoffed. The feudal lords changed, including Friedrich von Burkersroda and his heirs around 1594. In 1720, the Leipzig merchant and councilor Johann Ernst Kregel von Sternbach acquired the manor for 28,000 guilders. He had the existing manor house transformed into a Baroque castle and laid out a park. After his death, his son inherited the estate in 1731. Later owners included Dr. jur. Carl Friedrich Brehme from 1761 and the Leipzig merchant Johann Heinrich Küstner from 1785.
