CastleHerrenberg - Gültstein
Gültstein Castle
The prominent railway engineer and entrepreneur Otto Kapp von Gültstein (1853–1920) erected a villa with a separate gatehouse on the then 5-hectare site on the road to Herrenberg (today Schlossstrasse) in 1907/1908, which is known as Gültstein Castle or Gültstein Manor. Both parts of the building are in the Historicist style and predominantly use Romanesque architectural elements; the external condition is good. The castle was later extended and converted into a recreation home; today it houses a conference center for the KVJS and the DV. The villa is surrounded by an extensive park with beautiful old trees, ponds, and recreational facilities.
