Güterfelde Castle

History of the Building+
The castle was built in 1804-05 according to a design by David Gilly. In 1868, Albrecht von Roon bought the property for 135,000 Reichstaler. From 1873 to 1893, Gerson von Bleichröder lived in the house. In 1893, the city of Berlin acquired the former knight's estate and established a children's tuberculosis sanatorium in the castle. From 1952 until the summer of 2010, the castle served as a nursing home for the elderly and is currently being converted for residential purposes.
