Gunsleben Castle, once a knight's estate, is a historic ensemble in Saxony-Anhalt, reflecting architectural development from the Baroque to the Gründerzeit era.

History+

The first documented mention of Gunsleben dates back to 1112, when it was listed as property of Hamersleben Monastery. From 1453, the von der Asseburg family took possession of the estate and held it until its expropriation in 1945. Christoph Werner von der Asseburg had the Baroque manor house built in 1754, as well as the inspector's house in 1768. Later, in 1891, Count Maximilian Asche von der Asseburg added a Gründerzeit-style mansion to the ensemble.
