Gyllebo Castle

The castle was built in 1538-44 on the walls of an old castle by Laurids Lauridsen Knob. The castle was burned down several times and was always rebuilt. 1670 of the property transferred to Virgil Ehrenberg. 1754 the property transferred to the family Schönström. The present castle was built in the classical style of 1813-18 by Hedwig Sophia Schönström. In 1904 the castle was sold to the Belgian Lieutenant Marthe. In 1927, the property passed to the Kristianstad County, which operated here until 1971, a nursing home. In 1980 the castle was sold and is now privately owned.
