Hagenegg Castle

Hagenegg Castle is located in the middle of an English park landscape. The name of the castle refers to the "von Hagen" family, who continuously held princely offices in Kappel in the 15th and 16th centuries. In 1643, the building came into the possession of Johann Andreas von Rosenberg. Subsequently, ownership changed several times until the Counts Thurn-Valsassina finally acquired the castle in 1887.

The oldest part of the building complex dates back to a structure mentioned in 1316. The dominant part of the complex is a two-story, seven-axis building from the second half of the 17th century. The east facade is flanked by two corner towers, which are covered by an onion dome.
