In 1336, Johann Heinrich Steinberger in Hacken (Haggn) is first mentioned in a document. In 1414, Dietrich der Steinberger, the last of this family, died. The property then passed to Wilhelm and Kaspar Zenger, sons of the ducal marshal Berchthold Zenger.
