History+

Heiligenzell Castle, originally the former manor of Schuttern Monastery and popularly known as "Schlössle", dates back to the 15th century. The castle still has a late Gothic St. George's Chapel in the south wing. The buildings are now used as residential buildings and are popular for cultural events. The property was restored from 1980 to 1984. Notable details include the baroque main portal into the former provostry. Two pilasters support an entablature with ornamentation and the abbot's coat of arms. The portal to the chapel has a triangular pediment, also with a coat of arms.
