Hermersberg Castle

The origins of Hermersberg Castle likely date back to the 15th century, with the oldest structural elements preserved in the east wing. Between 1530 and 1540, Count Georg I of Hohenlohe-Neuenstein added a round stair tower. Count Ludwig Kasimir expanded the complex between 1551 and 1568 with a long west wing, now the central wing, and had it walled and a gate tower built to the west. In 1588, the half-timbered structure of the stair tower was renewed, and a year later, that of the connecting building. The well was also redesigned and a garden laid out.
