Heutingsheim Castle, an estate in Freiberg am Neckar, has baroque architecture and a history dating back to the Middle Ages. It replaced an older structure and continues to shape the local landscape.

History+

The origins of Heutingsheim Castle lie in the Blauhof, first mentioned in 1305 when Albrecht Kastner von Heutingsheim pledged the bailiwick to Bebenhausen Monastery. In the mid-14th century, Heutingsheim came into Württemberg possession and was enfeoffed to the Lords of Stammheim in 1372. In 1588, the Schertlin von Burtenbach family inherited the estates. Levin von Kniestedt acquired the property in 1695 and had the still-existing stables built in the same year. The current castle, with its hip roof and semicircular outdoor staircase, replaced the Blauhof in 1696.
