In 1615, the purchase of a "stone house" by Zacharias Geizkofler von und zu Gailenbach auf Haunsheim is mentioned. Around 1650, the castle was expanded by the pledge lord Andreas Ziegler from Schaffhausen. Until 1802, the castle was owned by Petershausen Abbey.
