Hjularöd Castle
Hjularöd Castle is an impressive structure in the Swedish region of Skåne, notable for its architectural resemblance to French prototypes. It stands as a striking example of late 19th-century historicist castle architecture.
History+
The first documented mention of Hjularöd dates back to 1391. However, the castle we see today was only constructed between 1894 and 1897, commissioned by Chamberlain Hans Gustaf Toll. Architects Isak Gustaf Clason and Lars Israel Wahlman drew significant inspiration from the French Château de Pierrefonds for their design. Since 1926, the castle has been owned by the Bergengren family.

Hjularöd Castle is situated in Harlösa, a district of the Eslöv municipality in the Skåne region of southern Sweden. It is located at an elevation of approximately 109 meters above sea level.
