Högestad Castle

Högestad belonged in the Middle Ages to the archbishop of Lund. After the Reformation the property came to the Swedish crown. Frederick II gave the property in 1574 Gert Ulfstands widow Görvel Gyllenstierna. 1635, the property changed to Palle Rosenkrantz. He built the castle. 1682 the property came back on the Swedish crown. 1706 sold Charles XII. the castle to Carl Piper. To date, it is family owned.
