Hörningsholm Castle

The castle's origins trace back to the 13th century, when a fortified site existed here. The original Symondöö estate, once owned by the Folkunga noble family, was located on a small island that later merged with Mörkö due to land uplift. In 1308, the estate belonged to Duke Erik Magnusson before passing through sales and inheritances to various noble families such as Örnfot, Sture, and Gyllenstierna.
