Hohenbocka Castle

The origins of Hohenbocka Castle date back to the late 19th century. Between 1897 and 1898, the von Götz family had the main castle built, replacing an older manor house that was demolished in 1902. An ensemble emerged, which was supplemented in 1904 by stables and a carriage house, whose style was based on existing buildings. In 1909, the smaller castle was added for a son of the family. After 1945, the castle served as accommodation for displaced persons and escaped destruction thanks to the efforts of the mayor and pastor. Subsequently, it was used for spa and quarantine purposes, including as a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients and a quarantine station.
