History of the Castle+

The castle was built in the 16th century. In 1710, the Trauttmannsdorff family owned the castle, and until 1810, it belonged to the Lords of Saurau. The castle is a two-story rectangular building with four diagonally placed corner towers. The remains of an older castle were used as retaining walls for garden terraces.

Architectural Features+

The castle is characterized by its distinctive four corner towers, which give it a unique appearance. The two-story structure reflects the architectural style prevalent in the 16th century.

Garden and Surroundings

The castle grounds include terraced gardens, where the ancient castle's remnants serve a practical and aesthetic purpose as supporting walls. These terraces offer picturesque views and add to the historical ambiance of the property.
