Holzheim Castle, also known as Painherrnhof, is a building in Leonding-Holzheim, Upper Austria. It has Baroque architecture.

History+

The first documented mention of Holzheim occurred in 1075. The Holzheim family owned the estate until 1376 before it passed to the Aczpeckh family, who held it until 1481. Subsequently, the castle became part of the Steyregg dominion. It received its current name, Painherrnhof, from the brothers Georg and Wolf Painherr, who were ennobled by Emperor Ferdinand III in 1648 for their services. After the death of the last Painherr in 1684, the original castle burned down in 1726. A new Baroque building was erected in its place.
