Schloss Horr, also known as Haus Horr, is a noble residence in Neukirchen. Originally built in the 18th century as a pleasure palace.

History+

The name Horr derives from "Horo," indicating a swampy environment. The estate was newly constructed in 1738 at the behest of Baron von Francken as a so-called Maison de plaisance. It is a former noble seat, connected by an avenue to a chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. The manor house, a two-story plastered building with a mansard roof, features architectural peculiarities such as a single-axis central risalit on the five-axis courtyard side and a three-sided risalit on the seven-axis garden side, both highlighted by their own roof structures. Windows and doors are framed with natural stone surrounds.
