Die Geschichte von Schloss Hoym+
Die Anfänge
Der Ort Hoym wurde 961 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Die Burg wurde 1038 von Bischof Burchard I. von Halberstadt errichtet. 1301 wurde die Burg als Castrum Hoym erwähnt. 1417 ließen die Fürsten von Anhalt auf den Mauern der Burg ein Schloss errichtet. 1714 - 21 erfolgte der Neubau des Schlosses durch die Fürsten von Anhalt-Bernburg-Hoym. 1945 wurden die Besitzer durch die Kommunisten zwangsenteignet und vertrieben. Heute ist in dem Schloss die größte Behinderteneinrichtung des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt untergebracht.
