Hünegg Castle
Hünegg Castle in Hilterfingen, situated directly on Lake Thun, is distinguished by its almost completely preserved historical interior.
History+
The castle was built between 1861 and 1863 on behalf of Baron Albert von Parpart. Its architectural style was based on Historicism, incorporating elements of French Renaissance castles along the Loire. Around 1900, the estate underwent a slight expansion under Gustav Lemke-Schuckert and was largely refurnished in the then-modern Art Nouveau style.

Today, Hünegg Castle serves as a museum of residential culture, presenting the Historicism and Art Nouveau eras. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, spaces are also available for temporary special exhibitions. The castle is open from mid-May to mid-October.
