History+

The first documented mention of the locality Imshausen dates back to 1278. The current manor house was built in 1791 by Rudolf von Trott zu Solz and his wife Eleonore Christiane. Its construction was influenced by the dominant French architectural style of the time. For a long period, it served as the family seat of the von Trott zu Solz family. A notable figure who resided here was the resistance fighter Adam von Trott zu Solz, who lived in the manor house between 1920 and 1921. From 1950 to 1995, the building housed the Imshausen Community, founded by his sister Vera von Trott zu Solz.
