Schlösschen Irsee, a building in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, was constructed in the late 17th century as a summer residence and guesthouse.
History+
The construction of Schlösschen Irsee took place in 1683 by the Imperial Abbey of Irsee, which was located near Kaufbeuren. The building served the abbey as a summer residence and for accommodating guests. In 1842, the German journalist and publisher Johann Georg August Wirth acquired the property with the intention of establishing his printing press there. However, financial difficulties forced him to auction off the estate as early as 1844. The small castle underwent renovations in 1943 and 1944 before being restored in 1981.
