Isareck Castle
Isareck Castle is a castle located near Wang on the steep slopes of the Isar, close to the confluence of the Isar and Amper rivers.
The office or lordship of Isareck probably came into the possession of the Wittelsbach family via the Counts of Moosburg. The current castle was built between 1559 and 1570 by the Moosburg master builder Asmus Hälmayr for Duke Albrecht V as a four-wing complex. After a fire in 1648, the castle was rebuilt in 1664. From 1775 to 1777, the castle was renovated. In 1803, the southeastern half was demolished. The castle has been owned by the Counts La Rosée since 1824. Today, only the three-story northeastern wing with the portal and a castle tower with a baroque onion dome, as well as the outbuildings, still exist.
The castle complex has already been the setting for filming several television series.
