Jahnsfelde Castle

The von Pfuel family acquired the locality of Jahnsfelde in 1449 and established the castle as their ancestral home. The core structure of the castle, a solid two-story plastered building, still features cross-rib vaults in its basement dating from the 17th century, likely around 1680. Around 1831, this oldest part underwent a Neoclassical transformation, visible in the central risalit of the south facade, whose gable field is adorned with the von Pfuel family crest carved in sandstone. An altana with staircases on both sides forms the center of the south facade. In 1871, the castle was expanded with brick additions in the Märkisch Neo-Gothic style.
