Jößnitz Castle

The origins of the estate date back to 1282, when a manorial seat of Theodoricus de Jezcenicz was mentioned. Around 1300, it was expanded into a castle, with remains of walls indicating an older defensive structure. In 1540, the estate passed into the possession of the von Watzdorf family. The castle was presumably damaged during the Thirty Years' War, which is evidenced by the year 1643 on its facade, marking the end of its reconstruction. The original complex consisted of two buildings, of which the main building was demolished around 1860. A planned new construction failed due to the owner's sudden death.
