Kartlow Castle, a manor house in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, is located in the Kartlow district of Kruckow. It features unique asymmetry and a combination of architectural styles.

History+

The history of the site dates back to 1245, when a fortified house of the Dukes of Pomerania-Demmin already existed here. Between 1274 and 1294, the property was enfeoffed to the Knights of Heyden. The original castle was destroyed in 1630 during the Thirty Years' War. Until the 19th century, the von Heyden family lived in a half-timbered house, which was renovated in 1852.
