Kavlås Castle
Kavlås castle is located in the Swedish municipality Tidaholm about ten kilometers northwest of the city Tidaholm. The castle is privately owned.
The history of Kavlås (also Kaflås), which belongs to the largest estates Skaraborgs dates from the 14th Century. 1723 bought the castle the family von Essen, which built the present castle. 1755 Hans Henrik von Essen was born in the castle. Parts of the interior from the 18th Century have been preserved. The castle also contains a valuable collection of royal and family portraits.
