In the Swedish municipality of Tidaholm, Kavlås Castle is a stately estate with a history dating back to the 14th century. It is one of the most significant properties in the Skaraborg region.

History+

The origins of Kavlås can be traced back to the 14th century. In 1723, the estate came into the possession of the baronial von Essen family, who had the current castle built. A figure, Hans Henrik von Essen, was born here in 1755. Parts of the original 18th-century furnishings have been preserved, and the castle houses a collection of royal and family portraits.
