Kayserburg Castle

To be privately owned

In the south of Salzburg city, along the Hellbrunner Allee, is Kayserburg Castle. This three-story building has window frames made of conglomerate stone.

History+

The construction of Kayserburg is dated to 1625, when Captain Hans Kayser received a plot of land from Archbishop Paris Lodron. After Kayser's death, the castle initially passed to his brother-in-law Philipp Vermeulen. Ownership changed frequently, including Johann Jakob Perger von Pergrain, Canon Ferdinand Graf Martiniz in 1689, and Abraham Zillner von Zillerberg in 1695.
