In the Swiss municipality of Kiesen stands Kiesen Castle. It was built on a historic site and now serves as a private residence, also providing space for cultural exhibitions.

History+

The origins of Kiesen Castle date back to the Middle Ages, when a castle stood on the same site. In the mid-18th century, the von Effinger family constructed the present castle. In 1830, the estate changed hands, being sold to Thomas Southwell Pigott. In 1915, National Councillor Colonel Roger Dollfus von Volckersberg acquired the castle.
