Kiesen Castle
Kiesen Castle was built in the mid-18th century by the von Effinger family on the site of a medieval castle. The Effingers sold Kiesen to Thomas Southwell Pigott in 1830. In 1915, the castle was acquired by National Councillor Colonel Roger Dollfus von Volckersberg. His wife, Annie Elisabeth Dollfus von Volckersberg, lived in Kiesen Castle until her death in 1983. After that, the castle stood empty for over 20 years until the Thun media artist Chantal Michel took over the castle in 2009.
Today, the castle regularly hosts exhibitions.
