Kleinerdlingen Castle
History+
The castle was founded and built in the first half of the 13th century by the noble free lords of Hürnheim with the assistance of the Counts of Oettingen as a Commandery of the Knights Hospitaller. Around 1600, the castle was rebuilt as a moated castle. In 1808, secularization took place. In 1809, Maximilian Freiherr von Welden acquired the castle. In 1842, his heirs sold the property to the master brewer Joseph Bocksberger. In 1979, the castle underwent a fundamental renovation.
