Kleiningersheim Castle

Kleiningersheim Castle is a Renaissance castle in the municipality of Ingersheim in the district of Ludwigsburg.

The castle is a successor building to the castle of the Lords of Ingersheim, which probably originated between the 12th and 14th centuries and fell into disrepair in the 16th century. Around 1580, the castle was built by Knight Caspar Nothafft directly next to the remains of the old castle, which are still partially preserved today. In 1600, the castle was granted as a fief by the Duke of Württemberg to the privy councilor Melchior Jäger from Gärtringen. In 1726, Baron von Wöllwarth bought the castle, before Württemberg bought it back a few years later. In 1911 and 1912, the castle was rebuilt by architect Simmel for Carl von Ostertag-Siegle, who had acquired the castle some time before. In 1963, Professor Walter Leibbrecht bought the castle, which served as the administrative building of Schiller College. Today it serves as the family's residence.
