Klingenberg Castle
Klingenberg City Palace, a Renaissance structure, stands in the town of Klingenberg am Main.
History+
The origins of the palace date back to 1560, when the Renaissance building was constructed. It served as the residence for the Mainz bailiffs. Initially, the Kottwitz von Aulenbach family inhabited the palace, before it passed into the possession of the von Mairhofen family from 1693, who used it until 1892. A French-style rose garden was laid out in the palace courtyard in 1741 and later supplemented with a tea house. The city of Klingenberg redesigned this rose garden in 1981, and it now serves as a venue for summer concerts.
