Schloss Köchstedt: A Historic Building with a Tumultuous Past+
History of the Castle+

Schloss Köchstedt was built after 1501, when the Prussian King Frederick William I purchased the estate. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After the reunification, the then tenant from Kiel, Stephan Frey, wanted to establish a mosque in the castle's premises. However, this was successfully prevented by selling it to a Romanian investor.
