Kollegg Castle

Today's Kollegg Castle is a three-story building and was erected in the 16th century on a rectangular floor plan. The east-facing facade features projecting corner towers. The 19th-century buildings, together with the west side of the castle, form a courtyard. On the west side there is also a round-arched portal with acanthus crowning (around 1700). A Thomas Chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1619. Extensive alterations were carried out in the 20th century. Kollegg Castle was owned by the Kohlweis family between 1455 and the mid-16th century. In 1591 it was acquired by Georg Sigmund von Neuhaus, in 1693 by the Cathedral Chapter of Sankt Andrä, and finally in 1931 by the Jesuit College of Sankt Andrä.
