Krapperup Castle
Krapperup Castle is a old castle-like building in the town of Höganäs. The oldest known estate at this point arose in the 14th Century. The present castle was built in the 15th Century and is operated today by a foundation.
The old stable at the access road is now used as an art gallery. The Old Forge accommodates a café and a souvenir shop. Another warehouse was rebuilt after a fire in the music hall, which hosts summer concerts.
The main building is in spring (Easter to mid-summer) and autumn (mid-September to mid-October) be visited by pre-registered groups on a guided tour.
In the Middle Ages was the estate name Krappatorp or Krapparp and was owned by the family Krognos. In the following years the estate transferred by sale and inheritance between different noble families. Some of these were the Podebusk, Rantzau, De la Gardie, and Gyllenstierna and of Kochen. 1967 the ownership changed to the Family Foundation Gyllenstierna.
