In the municipality of Krauchenwies in the Sigmaringen district, Baden-Württemberg, is Krauchenwies Castle, a building in the early Classicist style. Originally a medieval moated castle, it developed into the summer residence of the Counts and later Princes of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and continues to shape the townscape today.

The castle's origins date back to the Middle Ages, when it was first mentioned in a document in 1303 as a tower belonging to the Lords of Leiterberg. Initial alterations took place in the 15th century, before it was expanded into a Renaissance castle by Hans Waldner between 1595 and 1597 on behalf of the Counts of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. Swedish troops destroyed the complex in 1633 during the Thirty Years' War. Between 1769 and 1785, it was redesigned in the early Classicist style into a two-story, horseshoe-shaped three-wing complex. From 1808, Prince Karl of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen used the castle as his residence.
