Kressbach Castle

Kressbach is a former village near Tübingen. Today, Kressbach is a country house settlement belonging to the Tübingen district of Weilheim, with about 50 villas on the slope of the Steinlach valley below Kressbach Castle. The settlement is located south of Tübingen in the northern foothills of the Rammert forest area.

Kressbach was first mentioned around 1100. In the 16th century, the village came into the possession of the Lords of Ehingen and thus to the Lordship of Wankheim. With this, it later passed to the Lords of St. André, who built Kressbach Castle here in 1766, which was to become the center of their dominion. The castle garden and a Rococo fountain from this period are preserved. In the 19th century, Kressbach was incorporated into Weilheim.

At the beginning of the 21st century, a nine-hole golf course for the Kressbach Castle Golf Club was built on the meadows around the castle. In 2011, construction began on an 18-hole golf course on the plateau between the castle and Eckhof.
