Krobnitz Castle

The history of the estate in Krobnitz dates back to 1315, with a manor house mentioned around 1592. Between 1604 and 1686, it was owned by the von Nostitz family. In the early 18th century, a baroque manor house with a park was created under Caspar Heinrich von Vittinghoff. From 1824, the Oertzen family took over the estate. In 1871, Albrecht Graf von Roon acquired the property and had it converted into his retirement residence from 1873, giving it the character of a castle. He expanded the park and had a family crypt built in 1876, over which his son Waldemar built a neo-Gothic chapel in 1893.
