Around 1210, a fortified farm of the Krottendorfer (Stubenberg vassals) is mentioned for the first time. In 1310, the castle was owned by the Lords of Krottendorf, 1520-97 by the Stadler, 1635-1700 by the Leutzendorf and since 1950 by the company Böhler & Co., Eisenwerke.
