Kühtai Castle
Originally there was a dairy farm here, the Chutay (cow pasture). This was first mentioned as a dairy farm around 1288 in the property rights register of the Counts of Tyrol. In 1497, Emperor Maximilian I received the right to hunt in the Kühtai area. Archduke Leopold V had the dairy farm converted into a hunting lodge between 1624 and 1628 and a road built from Sellrain in 1624.
Already in the 1830s, mountaineers and summer tourists stayed in Kühtai. The hunting lodge was converted into a castle hotel at the end of the 19th century.
