Kunnersdorf Castle

The manor was founded in the 15th century and was owned by the Frenzel family from 1505. This was followed by Paul von Liedlau in 1594, Joachim von Schachmann in 1640, Joachim Philipp von Gustedt in 1740, Carl Victor August von Broizem auf Ebersbach from 1773-1789, Friedrich von Kleist from 1789-1820, Baron von Steinäcker from 1838-1847, Freiherr von Buddenbrock from 1847-1849, Freiherr von Oven from 1849-1851, Johann Baptist von Nothomb from 1851-1878, and Hugo and Mathilde von Stockhausen from 1878-1945. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists.

The Old Castle was built in the first half of the 18th century on the walls of a predecessor building erected around 1600. Since the 19th century, it served as a gardener's house. Today, the Old Castle is privately owned.

The New Castle was built in 1716. After 1945, it served as refugee accommodation. Later, it was used as a school. In 1984, the municipal administration was housed in the castle. Today, it is the seat of a recycling company.
