Lambsheim Castle

The former hunting lodge Lambsheim is located at Am Schlossgarten 14 in Lambsheim and belonged to General von Efferen. Built in 1706 and extended in 1890, the building remains in private ownership to this day and is of historical significance as a baroque noble residence outside the fortifications.

The two-story plastered building with a large outdoor staircase was designed as a moated castle and surrounded by a garden. From 1968 onwards, most of the garden was built upon and the moats were filled in. The hunting lodge also included the administrative building (Mühltorstraße 25), also built in 1706, which was donated to the municipality in 1936. The two-and-a-half-story corner building was initially used as a tax office, then as a residential house. Since its renovation in 1991, it has served as the town hall.
