Lang Castle

Lang Castle, also Schloss Langg, in the municipality of Feldkirchen, is surrounded by a small park.

Lang Castle was first mentioned in documents in 1306. In 1440, the estate belonged to the Pybriacher family, the owners of the Himmelberg dominion. Subsequently, the owners changed frequently. In the 18th century, the Jabornegg family resided at Lang Castle. In 1810, the castle burned down. In 1831, the estate came into the possession of the Platzer family. Today, it remains in private ownership.

The castle is a two-story building with a 19th-century facade. The later added central risalit is opened by loggias. Two Roman-era votive altars for Jupiter, probably from Tiffen, are immured at the double-flight staircase. The square fortification tower with a pyramid roof, located northwest of the castle, is connected to the main building by a wall section. North on the slope is the Stampferturm, mentioned in documents in 1478, a remnant of the former fortification.

In the cellar, vaults from the beginning of the 16th century are preserved. The upper floor is equipped with three Empire-style tiled stoves.
