Langenstein Castle
Maria Antonia von Branconi, née von Elsener (1746–1793), the mistress of Duke Karl von Braunschweig and acquaintance of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, owned the castle located in Langenstein. It was built between 1777-81. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
Since 1998, the castle has served as a residential and therapy center for people with autism and Prader-Willi syndrome.
