Laubach Castle

The origins of Laubach Castle date back to the 13th century, when a castle with a round keep was integrated into the local fortifications of the time. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the town's defenses underwent expansion. As early as 1420, citizens were granted privileges such as exemption from corvée labor and the right to participate in the construction of defensive structures. Count Kuno von Solms received imperial permission in 1475 to further fortify the castle and the town of Laubach. A redesign of the originally defensive round towers was carried out in 1533 by master builder Wolff Werner from Lich.
