Below the eponymous castle ruin in the municipality of Laurenburg is Laurenburg Castle, a comparatively modest estate. Originally conceived as a summer residence for the Princes of Anhalt-Bernburg, it is a representative style of construction.

The three-winged castle was built on behalf of the Princes of Anhalt-Bernburg, who intended to use it as their summer residence. Later, the two-story building served as the headquarters for the mining administration of the Holzappel mine, a subsidiary of the Stolberger Zink company.

Laurenburg Castle is located at an elevation of approximately 102 meters above sea level in the municipality of Laurenburg, in the Rhein-Lahn district, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It lies directly on the banks of the Lahn river.
